  • Q: I work in the National Capital Region, should I plan to attend the Global Town Hall in person?
    A: No, this Global Town Hall will be on the Commercial Virtual Remote (CVR) Environment. If you have a CVR account you can attend by clicking on the following link: Global Town Hall link (Sign in required)

  • Q: Will there be a ‘dial-in’ for people who are not using CVR?
    A: Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer a ‘dial-in’ for this event.
  • Q: How do I get a CVR login or guest account?
    A: Please contact your IT service desk to find out if your organization is using CVR. If your organization is using CVR, your IT service desk can provide you with a username and password. If not, they may be able to setup a CVR guest account. A list of Local Service Desk contacts is located here.
  • Q: Can I use my CVR guest account to view this event?

  • Q: As an attendee will other people be able to see or hear me?
    A: No, attendees will only be able to see the presenters and presentation being shown.
  • Q: Will I be able to participate from my home computer, from my smart phone, from my tablet, etc.?
    A: Yes, you can view by using the Global Town Hall link.

  • Q: Will contractors be allowed to participate?
    A: Yes, the Global Town Hall is open to military, civilians and contractors in the DoD IT professional field.
  • Q: I'm not a CIO, should I participate?
    A: We encourage anyone at DoD who works as an IT professional to participate.
  • Q: Will a transcript be available afterwards?
    A: Yes, expect the transcript to be ready o/a August 19th, 2020 (CAC enabled).
  • Q: Will there be a read ahead provided?
    A: The agenda will be available prior to the event. We are not providing a read ahead.
  • Q: Will this be 508 compliant? Will there be live captions?
    A: Yes, closed captioning is available. After logging into the live event, on the lower right hand side of the screen click on the settings "gear" icon click on "Captions/Subtitles" and then click on "English".
  • Q: What if I am unable to watch the Global Town Hall live, will it be recorded so I can watch later?
    A: Yes, once the event is over you can watch the recording using the Global Town Hall link above or on the Microsoft Stream link (CVR login required).

    A: The Global Town Hall is closed to the media. The DoD CIO office regularly hosts media round tables, and we hope to host you at a media round table in the future.
