Ms. Lauren Stockwell is the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, she manages the legislative, governance, and executive secretariat portfolios. In addition, she manages the public affairs, industry engagements, and international portfolios while overseeing day-to-day operations for the DoD CIO.
Ms. Stockwell brings 14 years of experience between the United States Senate and the DoD. She most recently served as the DoD CIO’s senior legislative analyst and subject matter expert providing Department-wide management planning expertise. Prior to joining the DoD, Ms. Stockwell worked in the United States Senate as the senior military legislative assistant focusing on policy issues to include military, defense, and foreign affairs. In this capacity, she spearheaded bills through the legislative process and maintained lines of communication between military installations, industry, and constituents for the Senator.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Mandarin from Kansas State University and a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College.
