Mr. Tony Simon currently serves as the Acting Principal Director for the Deputy CIO (DCIO) for the Information Enterprise. In this role, he manages the development of strategic guidance and policy for matters concerning the enterprise infrastructure, information resources management, and information technology (IT) architecture and standards. He leads a diverse team of military, civilian, and contractor personnel working across DoD Components to continuously modernize the DoD digital enterprise.

Prior to this role, Mr. Simon served as Director for Enterprise Capabilities under the Office of the DoD CIO. His responsibilities included the oversight and management of the Department's IT reform initiatives, cloud and DevSecOps adoption, data center optimization, and enterprise services. His 30 years of professional IT experience include management of DoD-wide IT initiatives and development of strategic plans and policies. He led development and execution of DoD’s original data strategy, which established the fundamental goals that still apply today; enterprise infrastructure guidance to drive digital modernization and improved enterprise management; and implementation plans to initiate action across the Department for better information sharing. Additionally, he served as Program Manager for the Battlefield Intelligence and Collection Systems (BICES) under the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Command, Control Communications and Intelligence (C3I) establishing the initial foundation for international partnerships in the exchange of information.

Mr. Simon holds a Master of Business Administration from Marymount University and a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from Virginia Tech.
